Research now shows that a driver of an automobile is 23 times more likely to be involved in an accident if he is texting. This research was presented at a South Carolina Association of Justice seminar that Farrell A. Levy of our firm attended last weekend. Shockingly, the average driver looks away from the road over four seconds when texting. It is now thought that texting while driving is more dangerous that than driving while intoxicated with a 0.08 BAC.
