Carolyn Levy Gilliam is an attorney and member at McDonald, Levy & Taylor, PLLC. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law and holds the distinction of being an AV Preeminent® attorney with Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating awarded for professional excellence.
She primarily practices in the areas of wills, trusts, elder law, conservatorships, probates, business matters, and related litigation. In addition to her legal practice, Carolyn also serves in fiduciary roles for her clients, including as trustee of a trust, personal representative/executrix of a will, power of attorney, and court-appointed conservator.
Carolyn has been recognized by Knoxville Cityview Magazine as a Top Attorney every year since 2023 in the areas of Elder Law, Estate Planning, Trusts, Wills/Probate, Social Security Disability, and Adoption. She was also selected by Best Lawyers in America as Ones to Watch in Elder Law, Trusts & Estates, and Litigation – Trusts & Estates, an honor awarded to lawyers who exhibit outstanding professional excellence in private practice.
She has been with McDonald, Levy & Taylor since her senior year at Farragut High School. Carolyn earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Financial Management from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, graduating with the highest GPA among management majors in her class. She was inducted into the academic honor society of Phi Eta Sigma and is a member of the Knoxville Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, and Tennessee Association for Justice.
Outside of her practice, Carolyn is active in her community. She serves as Secretary and former Treasurer of Dream Connection, Inc., an all-volunteer nonprofit that fulfills the dreams of children with life-threatening illnesses. She is also an active partner of Shoreline Church.
Carolyn and her husband, Eric, live in Farragut with their daughter and son. She enjoys golf, having competed in Division I college golf at Mercer University, and is a member of Fox Den Country Club in Farragut, Tennessee.
